How it’s worked out
Everything you pay into ISAs in a tax year counts towards one £20,000 allowance. A Lifetime ISA takes up to £4,000 of it. From 6 April 2027, if you're under 65, no more than £12,000 a year can go into cash ISAs.
Worked example
You can still put £15,000 into ISAs this tax year, all of it in cash if you like. From 6 April 2027, your cash limit is £12,000 a year.

Questions people ask
Does unused allowance carry over?
No. Each tax year's allowance is lost if you don't use it by 5 April.
Do transfers count?
No. Moving money between ISAs doesn't use your allowance, as long as it's done as a transfer by the providers.
