Privacy policy
This policy explains how JLA (UK) Ltd, trading as JLA Accountants (“we”), uses personal data collected through this website. We are the data controller. Company number 08935290, 42 Lytton Road, New Barnet, Hertfordshire EN5 5BY.
What we collect and why
- Enquiries. When you book a call or send us a message, we collect your name, email address, phone number (if given) and what you tell us. We use it only to reply and to discuss working together. Our lawful basis is legitimate interests (answering your enquiry) and, if you become a client, steps before entering a contract.
- Newsletter. If you subscribe, we use your email address to send our updates. Our lawful basis is your consent. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and you can withdraw consent at any time.
Sending an enquiry does not sign you up to our newsletter.
Who processes it for us
Our website is hosted in the EU by our web developer. Enquiries and newsletter signups reach us by email through Resend (an email delivery service; our account sends from Ireland) and are recorded in Mark, our client enquiry and marketing system, which is hosted in the EU. Cloudflare Turnstile checks that our forms are filled in by people (see Cookies). If you accept analytics cookies, Google processes how the site is used. These suppliers act on our instructions under contract and may not use your data for anything else. We do not sell your data or share it with anyone else unless the law requires us to.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that don’t lead to an engagement are deleted within 12 months. If you become a client, your data is held under our engagement letter and our professional record-keeping obligations. Newsletter subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe.
Cookies
This website sets no cookies unless you agree to them. There are no advertising or marketing tags, no tracking pixels and no chat widgets.
Google Analytics (only if you accept). When you first visit, we ask whether we may use Google Analytics to see which pages people find useful. If you accept, Google Analytics sets two cookies, _ga and _ga_792MMKWX0P, each lasting up to two years. They record, in a form that does not identify you by name, the pages you view, how you arrived, and your device type and approximate location. Google provides this service to us as a processor; the data may be processed in the United States under the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. If you reject, or don’t answer, Google Analytics is not loaded at all and nothing is sent to Google.
You can change your mind at any time with the Cookie settings link at the foot of every page. If you withdraw consent, we stop Google Analytics and delete its cookies from your browser.
Spam protection on our forms. When you use one of our forms, Cloudflare Turnstile (provided by Cloudflare, Inc.) checks that it is being filled in by a person rather than an automated program. It runs only when a form is on screen, sets no cookies, and uses information about your browser and connection for that check alone. This is necessary to keep our forms working, so it does not need your consent.
Your cookie choice is remembered in your browser’s local storage so we don’t ask again. It contains no personal data and is never sent to us. You can remove it by clearing this website’s data in your browser.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, and ask us to correct it, delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, or move it elsewhere. Email info@jla.accountants or call 020 8441 1140. If you’re unhappy with how we have handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
Changes
We will post any changes to this policy on this page.
