How it’s worked out
A van you can use for personal trips is taxed as if it were £4,170 of extra pay a year, whatever it's worth. Fuel for personal trips adds £798. Electric vans aren't taxed. Using the van only to get to work, with no more than the odd small personal detour, isn't taxed at all.
Worked example
You'd pay about £994 a year in tax for your work van, about £83 a month.
